We are a Jewish non-profit organization committed to reestablishing our proactive response to the global rise of antisemitism. Uniting the community through tailor-made programs focused on charity, education, and Jewish empowerment.
BeRIGHTeous was founded as a proactive response to the rising tide of anti-Israel and antisemitic intimidation. We quickly realized that many Jews, both young and old, are either not engaged in community building or lack sufficient knowledge about their heritage,
culture, and history. Instead of engaging in constant conflict, our aim is to foster the growth of our community by instilling pride and providing the tools needed to navigate today’s challenges and build a stronger future.
Our mission is to empower individuals to give back, deepen their understanding of Jewish identity, and embrace their responsibilities in preserving our culture and future. We believe that by cultivating a well-rounded sense of self and community, we can stand resilient
against hate and discrimination. It begins with us and our commitment to each other, ensuring that our community can face adversity with strength and that our next generation is prepared to lead us forward.
At beRIGHTeous we are dedicated to making a difference for the Jewish community of Greater Toronto Area through our 13 week outreach and self empowerment programs.
We aim to connect volunteers with opportunities to give back to their community, foster a sense of shared responsibility, and promote values of kindness and compassion.
Our program includes an educational component where volunteers engage in discussions about values and morality, drawing from various sources such as Torah study and social activism. We also emphasize Israel advocacy and organize efforts to raise funds for communities in Israel. Students will receive their volunteer hours upon completion. Adults and families will receive a discounted price on flights to Israel and 25% of any Merch sold on our website.
Our program highlights the essential need for self-reliance and community solidarity now. Just as our ancestors banded together during their many exiles, we too must protect one another and form strong partnerships. Every person is personally responsible for himself and his actions or lack thereof, as it is his/her obligation to never avoid his duty of being there for others. By collaborating with top-notch charitable and non-charitable Jewish organizations, we can create a robust circle of giving that uplifts the entire community. Our partners are dedicated to sharing their passion and commitment with you, fostering the growth and resilience of our community. We are grateful for your involvement in their efforts to bring chessed—kindnessand compassion—to the world. Together, we can ensure a brighter, more secure future for all.
